Making Your Own Work

T-shirt: A Killing Joke by Reaper Agency

In this day and age we are so lucky. As an actor and a filmmaker I can easily get access to a decent camera, work an idea out and film it. And that is exactly what I regularly do.

Recently I have won various awards from film festivals both on home turf and internationally. They have not only allowed me to explore ideas and be creative but I have met a huge number of directors and worked with them on their own projects from doing so.

Currently I am working on a feature film in which I will direct and act in and I have many friends that are also creating work to get themselves seen, to keep performing and to move creative ideas forward.

One friend (or I should say two friends) are Emma Ralston (Into The Woods & A One Woman Version of Wicked in her Living Room) and Anthony Williamson (Joseph, Evita and All The Parts of Legally Blonde on The Northern Line). They are both musical theatre performers, both on stage and the street, and constantly run Cabarets showcasing their latest songs, up and coming talent and also graduates.

Inside the quirky Arts Theatre Leicester Square and up a rickety stair case lies the beautifully named Above The Arts and this is exactly where Emma and Anthony take on residency with Sunday at The Arts with...

Their cabarets are hilarious and awe-inspiring as they mix comedy and pure singing talent seamlessly.   I have been to many of their cabarets and they are filled with musical and pop songs, antidotes and song retellings. I urge you to go and see what they are creating.

Oh and look at that they have two gigs coming up (mother plugger).

On Sunday 30th Oct, THIS SUNDAY, they have the 'Secret Cabaret' at 2:30 which is full of Westend talent but it's a complete surprise until the curtain (which Anthony will probably wear) comes up and 'Anthony and Emma' at 7:30 in which the wickedly talented Natalie McQueen (Wicked, Murder Ballard) is performing with the stagey duo.

It's so important to help other creatives so GRAB TICKETS HERE and support people creating their own work.

What work are you creating or have you created?
